Curious about how to obtain Mega Stones in Pokémon Champions? Mega Stones are special held items that enable certain Pokémon to Mega Evolve during battle. When a Pokémon holds its corresponding Mega Stone, you can trigger Mega Evolution mid-fight, granting a temporary power boost. However, you're allowed only one Mega Evolution per battle, so timing and selection are crucial. If you're aiming to collect them all, here's everything you need to know about acquiring Mega Stones in Pokémon Champions.
How to Obtain Mega Stones
At launch, Pokémon Champions features 57 Mega Stones. You can get them through several methods: the Frontier Shop, Battle Pass rewards, the Mega Evolution tutorial, and special transfers from Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
The majority of Mega Stones are available in the Frontier Shop, accessible from the game's main menu. Each Mega Stone costs 2,000 VP, and once purchased, it can be used indefinitely. Some stones included in the shop are also part of the paid Battle Pass — buying the Battle Pass unlocks them as well.
A few stones, such as Beedrillite and Manectite, are unlocked by completing the Mega Evolution tutorial, found under the Train menu > Battle Tutorials.
Additionally, four Mega Stones can only be obtained by transferring specific Pokémon from Pokémon Legends: Z-A into Pokémon Champions. These Pokémon are the three Kalos starter final evolutions — Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja — along with Eternal Flower Floette. Once you transfer these Pokémon, their Mega Stones are sent directly to your in-game mailbox.

How to Equip and Use Mega Stones in Pokémon Champions
To equip a Mega Stone, open the team editing screen. You can do this from the pre-battle screen before queuing for a match. Select your team lineup and choose the squad you want to use. Then pick the Pokémon you wish to give a Mega Stone and open its held item menu.
Use the "R" button to cycle through item categories until you reach the Mega Stones tab, then select the correct stone for that Pokémon.
During battle, press "R" before selecting a move to trigger Mega Evolution. Once activated, your Pokémon will Mega Evolve during that turn and remain in its Mega Evolved form for the rest of the battle. Unlike Pokémon Legends: Z-A, only one Pokémon can Mega Evolve per battle in Pokémon Champions. Even if multiple team members hold Mega Stones, you'll have to choose wisely.
